| This thesis aimed at exploring the elegant literary gathering in capital Chang’an in Tang Dynasty. It consists of four chapters. The former two chapters studies the outside cultural environment of Chang’an elegant literary gathering, and the latter two parts with an eye to activity itself and situation of the principal part.The first chapter mainly investigates the space of the elegant literary gathering in Chang’an based on accumulation of some related literatural documents. And then we can draw a conclusion that the activity is mainly five points as follow:Palace Norm bounded and Pavilion, Manor Mountain ponds of officials maharajas, Dwelling and Villa of officials in Chang’an, the sights of Chang’an as well as Premises and guest houses. We attempt to uncover how the environment seriously affects the activity incidentally.The second chapter will do a research about the circle of friends of literati in Chang’an. Their circle of friends definitely be limited by the not small impact of some systems and polices as they live in the city which was absolutely political. This chapter will develop on this basis and summarize three groups which includes Palace Literati Group, Bureaucrat Literati Group, and Chip-Ship Group, which proves that some polices of Imperial Court supported a lot to these chasing wander activities by literati.The third chapter as the activity itself according to activity content analyzes aesthetic interest and summarize the pleasure of appreciating nature, the pleasure of noticing the Art, the pleasure of Gin song and dancethese three types. Furthermore, we try to disclose the transmutational track of this activity’s aesthetic interest in Tang Dynasty during 300 years.The last chapter according to making a summary different emotional pursuits about the principal part indicates that the secular aspect of the elegant literary gathering. This part will be divided into two sections. In the first section, we will discuss the compromise between the individual consciousness in this activity and the group life, which reveal the peculiarity of literati’s behavior of living in a group. The second section analyzes all kinds of the secular feelings of these literati. Their representations are identity consciousness, communication consciousness and pleasure-seeking consciousness. |
