| The main content of this thesis is to analyze the composer Xilin Wang’s chamber work "Two Pieces Written for Lu Xun’s’Casting A Sword, Op.28’ (1993)". In addition, study and research the harmony within twelve-tone sequence from analyzing this chamber work’s composing technique and harmonic language. This thesis will focus and divide with four main sections.The first part is the biography of the composer Xilin Wang and also with the overview of his composition and composing language. The second part is the introduction of the chamber work, "Two Pieces Written for Lu Xun’s’Casting A Sword, Op.28’(1993)"; the background of the composing and the philosophy when he set outThe third part is making an intensive study with this composition’s harmony. Go over four directions with harmonic rhythm, the harmonic color of the sound effects, the acoustics of loose and tight, and also the relationship between chords and melodies. From above these research, comprehend twelve-tone composition technique requirements in the use of harmony. The final part will focus on the composing language which provide from the twelve-tone chords and research the total serialism of the twelve-tone sequence. |
