A Study On The Relationship Between Parental Rearing Patterns, Self - Worth And Ambition

Aspiration level is also called the level of ambition, which is about people’s behavior to achieve what degree of psychological desire. It is indispensable to people’s life and work, is bound to be affected by various factors. Both on the internal factors and external factors, there are many factors influencing the aspiration levels. Do self-worth(an internal factor) and parental upbringing methods(an external factor) have any connection with personal ambition. At the beginning of the 20 th century in the late 1890’s, the secondary students, facing with the complex learning environment, the temptation of living environment, more and more social relationships, their psychological development and their thoughts produced new changes and contradictions, there are different levels of self-awareness deviation, and every aspect of their psychological quality study has an important practical signif1 cance. Therefore, based on the secondary vocational student’s facing a special group of special environment and psychological characteristics, aspiration level on their status quo and its relationship with self-worth, the ways of parents teaching research, hope to provide certain help through this research for the secondary vocational student’s level of ambition as well as mental health education.This research adopts the questionnaire survey method, 600 students of three different schools to investigate analysis and empirical research, to investigate secondary natural parents upbringing, self-worth and aspiration level conditions; and it analyzes the secondary natural parents upbringing, self-worth, and the relationship between the level of ambition.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:(1) aspiration from secondary vocational school students has close connection with parental upbringing method. Parental upbringing methods lead to the prediction of one’s ambition.(2) The aspiration has close connection with self-worth. Self-worth also leads to the prediction of one’s ambition.(3) The ways of parents teaching have a signif1 cant role to one’s ambition in different aspects. Positive parental teaching methods have growing correlation with self-worth, whereas negative parental teaching methods do the opposite.(4) self-worth in the ways of parental teaching has not much intermediary role in the impact on the level of ambition. Parental teaching methods may directly affect the level of ambition through self-worth.Based on the above research conclusion, combining with the current social reality, this study puts forward some suggestions for reeducation through education, so as to the secondary vocational student’s fam1 ly education, school education will provide practical help, establish appropriate and fusion of the parent-child relationship, promote the secondary student mental health for a long-term development.
