Study Of The Security In Wireless Sensor Networks

The wireless sensor network is a new research field in automatization, communication engineering and computer science and technology disciplines, is the technology being applied to surveillance and reconnaissance, has the vast application prospect. With the fact that sensor networks gradually are used in each field, the security in wireless sensor networks is outstanding increasingly. So far, in the process of studying and developing of wireless sensor networks, security has been concentrated less. In fact, being short of effectively safe mechanism has become the main obstacle restricting the application of wireless sensor networks.The technology of security in wireless sensor networks has been studied mainly, on basis that knowledge of sensor networks is introduced in this thesis. The chief contributions of this thesis are: 1) Analyzing the various threats that sensor networks are confronted, combining the characteristics of wireless sensor networks, the requirements of security in sensor networks are proposed. 2) Analyzing the schemes of pairwise key management in sensor networks, comparing the various schemes of key management, and proposing the strongpoint and shortcoming of every scheme. 3) A protocol of encryption for security in sensor networks is proposed, and some problems of realization and characteristics for this protocol are analyzed. 4) Studying the protocols of broadcast authentication in sensor networks, and a protocol of broadcast authentication based multi-base in sensor networks is proposed. 5) A scheme of intrusion prevention and detection for clustering-based sensor networks is proposed, and some enhancing advice for this scheme is also proposed. The thoughts being adopted and the algorithms being suggested in this thesis are applied, and are able to ensure security of sensor networks in a way.The schemes and protocols that are proposed in this thesis have considered the characteristics of resource-starved in sensor networks. The protocol of broadcast authentication based multi-base is able to assure the security of broadcast communication, has less waste in energy, computing and storage. The scheme of intrusion prevention and detection for clustering-based sensor networks is able to prevent attacks from network inside and outside nodes effectively, and has some advantages in performance, efficiency and energy.Comprehensive knowledge is involved in security in sensor networks.
