Research On The High-speed Data Recorder For Synthetic Aperture Radar

Because of its widely application in military and civilian affair, SyntheticAperture Radar has received more and more recognition. In recent years, the SARtechnology increasingly grows to high resolution, wide mapping-band,multi-work-mode, so the data rate and quantity have been increasing continuously. Itis necessary to develop a high-speed and large-capacity data recorder for datarecording while SAR working or being tested.This thesis is based on the research work of the high speed data recorder. Thebasic knowledge and the development of SAR is introduced firstly. And then thedevelopment of data recording is introduced. The structure of data recorder is thenanalyzed. The chapter 3 introduces the bus and interface of current data recording.From the chapter 4 to chapter 6 there is a detailed description on the development ofthe space-based SAR on-ground data recorder. The chapter 7 is about thedata-recorder control-card based on chip FAS660, introducing the developing work onit in detail.The research and developing of the space-based SAR on-ground data recorder isintroduced in detail. The equipment is based on the CPCI-bus, taking Windows2000as the system platform, using the high-speed and large-capacity SCSI hard disk forstoring medium. And now, as the space-based SAR on-ground data recorder, thisbus-based data recorder has passed the functional test and check-accept, further more,it has been in use with steady performance beyond expectation.Moreover, the research and developing of high-speed data recording control-cardis introduced in the thesis. The card is based on the SCSI control chip of Qlogiccompany—FAS660. It can make the high-speed data stream written into SCSI harddisk through SDRAM, by-pass PCI-bus. In the same time, the function of datarecovery is considered. The card can recover the data in the SCSI HD into data files.Now, the PCB of the card has been accomplished and more debug is being taken on it.
