Research And Implementation Of Personal Space Of Information Management System Based On WSRF

With the increase means of collecting the digital data, and the decrease of data storage cost, the data a user has to face and use has increased dramatically in the volumes, types and processing demands. As a result, personal information management has been a new research direction as a cross field of database, human-computer interaction and knowledge engineering. Currently, the utilization and sharing of personal resource have been significantly influenced with the development of the Grid computing. How to collect, store, organize and query personal data resources in these environments will greatly affect the ability and effect of query executions.The objective of this thesis is towards the integration of Personal Space of Information management system and Grid computing environment. By making use of WSRF (Web Service Resource Framework) and its reference implementation, Globus Toolkit 4.0, this thesis focus on the encapsulation of data resource in local and network environments. Based on these encapsulated data, we provide services which users can use to manage personal information. The main contributions of this thesis includes three aspects.1. It analyzes the key issues which are required by a Personal Space of Information management system. Based on WSRF, we propose a multi-layered architecture; design the organization and function of every layer and focus on the investigration of the question techniques of the services in Resource Integration Framework Layer.2. It aims at the characteristic of personal information renovates rapidly, and considering the personal environment, we proposed two methods to resolve the consistency of data. One method is the synchronization of data among equipments. the other method uses the Publish/Subscription mechanism to solve the sharing of data among different users.3. A prototype of personal information management system based on Globus Toolkit 4.0 has been designed and implemented. It can be used to manage user registration, personal information, tags, and files and so on. In addition, the validity of related research work has been verified.The research results in this thesis can also be applied to other data integration applications which are based on Grid technology, theoretically and practically.
