Kangding County of Sichuan Province is a popular tourist area and tourism is its pillar industry. At the same time, Kangding is rich in geothermal resource. The development of geothermal resource becomes an important means of environmental protection and energy conservation in Kangding. With the large scale development of geothermal resources, the existing researches are not sufficient for the needs of local development. Therefore, the deepened research of the reasons for the forming of geothermic and the re-evaluation of local geothermal resources are in urgent need.Predecessors have already did some researches in Kangding Simaqiao-Xiaoreshui geothermal field and have gained a certain understanding of the area. However, most of the researches were merely based on spring surveys and geological analysis and there was no geopHysical exploration and drilling, naturally there is a lack of direct evidence in the result of the research. And also there is not any clear answer on the question if there is long-range rechargement for the resource of the underground hot water in the area.This research study of geology - hydrogeological conditions, geopHysical data and hydrogeochemical data. According to tectonics, regional structure and hydrogeological conditions analysis, the geothermal water’s supply, drainage channel is determined. Analysis of hydrogeological conditions can understand the situation of underground aquifers, shallow aquifers and to determine the relationship between the deep water and geothermal water. In this study, a controlled source audio magnetotelluric (CSAMT) audio magnetotelluric data were collected combined with drilling data for further inferred geothermal reservoir’s depth, water uptake, and distribution continuity. Analysis of hydrogeochemical methods was to analysis surface water, spring water, geothermal wells and they chemical types of water samples, PH value, stable isotope deuterium, lithium, etc., by this way, the relationship of the three type of water was determined and the migration of ground water models can be fatherly inferred. Different methods may be inferred different conclusion, through comprehensive analysis, reflection, and selected the reasonable parts, the final conclusions and be determined.Acording to the study, Simaqiao-Xiaoreshui geothermal field is fracture zone - deep cycle geothermal systems. Geothermal water in Simaqiao-Xiaoreshui geothermal field come from precipitation which infiltrates into the deep Aquifer by Kangding - Moxi fault and the recharge elevation is about 3619m.The geothermal water recharged by rainfall in the Hillside of the east of Yulin river,and the area south of Simaqiao-Xiaoreshui is also a recharge area. The Geothermal reservoir distribues along the Valley and the temperature of the geothermal water is very high ,it is better for power generation and city heating .
