Deep ore prospecting draws more and more attentions with the national economydevelopment and the modernization process improvement in the21stcentury. Meanwhile, asthe difficulty grows with the depth of the prospecting, the studies of various methods incombined prospecting have formed the main trend in this field.This paper relies on the project of《Experimental research of gravitational, magneticmethod in the exploration of Shanxi iron ore and bauxite》. A known contact metasomaticiron deposit in Dong Kang-Hu village Shanxi province is studied here. the high precisiongravity and magnetic data is processed and interpretated,the rock mass distribution isstudied, and the application effect of joint exploration method for contact metasomatic typein iron ore.is analysised.This paper reviews the current status of the research fields of geology and geophysics.combine those existing data of geology, well drilling and physical property, and analyses thecharacteristic of gravitational and magnetic field in the research area. With the verticalderivatives method, analysis of iterative sliding trend potential field separation and thenormalized vertical derivative of the total horizontal derivative method,the planar range ofmagnetic substance in Dong Kang-Hu village is determined.By using RGIS2.5D, the jointinversion of gravity and magnetic data is made on an important section in the study area,and the spatial distribution of the magnetic body is deduced.Through the studies on the comprehensive iron exploration technology in Shanxiprovince Dong Kang-Hu village, we find that the combination of gravity and magneticmethod is the most effective method in exploring such iron deposit. And it will promote theapplication research of the exploring the contact metasomatic iron ore in a greater range.
