Marine buoy is an important environmental observation equipment instereoscopic observation system. It can observe the marine environment in differentweathers, continuously, automatically in harsh marine environment, it is theexpansion of the ocean shore observation stations, survey vessels and aircrafts inspace and time. But the buoy just can work in fixed stations, it will waste a lot toreposition. It has been an urgent needs to establish an independent control movingmonitoring platform for the further studying of the marine environment. A concept ofmotor marine buoy has been proposed.The promoting types and wave energy utilization devices of existing AUV, ROVand marine moving platform are referenced in this article, the attenuation disciplinewith wave of the wave-particle movement is analyzed and wave energy conversiondevice and promoting mechanism is designed. The kinematic model of the designedpromoting mechanism has been established and hydrodynamic analysis of promotingprinciple and efficiency. A wave power promoting system is designed according theproposed principle, a test device is designed and made. Related tests are taken to testthe promoting effects of the fins’ rotation angle limits to find the optimal limit rotationangle of the fins. Sea tests are designed and taken to test the promotion effects ofwave energy promoting mechanism.
