With the development of satellite technology, the application of global navigationsatellite in military and civil fields such as aerospace and traffic navigation attracts moreand more attention. In recent years, the positioning navigation problem of high orbitsatellite is becoming the hot issue of scholars at home and abroad. At present, the positionof high earth orbit satellites is achieved mainly through the continuous observation usingmonitoring network. But this way needs complex system and high cost of maintenance.However, global navigation satellite system can provide high-accuracy navigation servicefor high orbit satellite, which has the advantages of simple structure and low cost. So thenavigation of high orbit satellite using global navigation satellite system has been a newresearch direction. The main content of this paper is:1. The structural characteristics and modulation method of GPS satellite signals are analyzed, which is a foundation for the research of visibility and usability of navigation satellite in the next chapter.2. The current research situation on the visibility and usability of global navigationsatellites of high orbit satellite are analyzed using the AO-40satellite, which is selected asthe user satellite. One new method that can improve the usability navigation satellitequantity and the period of navigating autonomously is put forward on the deeply researchof the concepts of the transmission time demodulation threshold and ephemeris datademodulation threshold.3. The basic principles and algorithms to acquire satellite signals is analyzed respectively, including the acquisition in time domain and acquisition in frequency domain algorithm. The advantage and shortcoming of coherent integration algorithm, non‐coherent integration algorithm and differential coherent integration algorithm are analyzed. The performance, characteristics and application of semi‐bit acquisition algorithm and full‐bit acquisition algorithm are compared, which is prepared for the next chapter.4. The problem of weak and high-dynamic existing in GPS receiver applied in high earth orbit is studied. One new acquisition algorithm is put forward based on mixsearchacquisition algorithm. The turnover situation of navigation data is estimated using circlealgorithm to compensate the effect of navigation data inversion on the result of acquisitionin this new method, which can improve the sensitivity and resolution of frequency, usingthe compensated data.
