Horqin area is the political, economic and cultural center of Tongliao City, andtake groundwater as its main water resource. In recent years, the industry andagriculture of Horqin have got rapid development, while the groundwater resources inthe region, have been a series of problems. Based on "prevention" strategy,groundwater vulnerability assessment is the basis for the protection of groundwaterresources, and this study can provide reference views for the planning and layout ofland use, groundwater resource protection and optimizing water quality monitoringwell sites and so on.Groundwater vulnerability study can be divided into two categories: intrinsicvulnerability and special vulnerability. This study takes the research experience athome and abroad as the basis, and researches both the intrinsic vulnerability andspecial vulnerability of Horqin area.On the basis of the traditional DRASTIC model, this paper selects fiveassessment factors for intrinsic vulnerability assessment factors system, such as depthto groundwater, etc. And on its basis, considering the impact of human activities forgroundwater vulnerability, add land use types and over-mining area this two factors asindicators to constitute specific vulnerability assessment factors system. We establishthe appropriate rating system for each evaluation factor. Get the weight system by theusing minimizing entropy principle to optimize the result of AHP and PrincipalComponent-Factor Analysis, this integrated method increases the reliability of theweight system.In this paper, the spatial data processing and visualization capabilities of ArcGISare used to superpose the distribution maps of factors, and then get the distributionmap of intrinsic vulnerability of the study area. Respectively, the comprehensiverating method and the fuzzy optimization method are used to study specificvulnerability of the study area. And the characteristics and reasons of spatialdistribution of each respective vulnerability distribution map are counted andanalyzed.In this study, water quality of monitoring wells in the study area are evaluated,and the distribution of water quality factor is compared to the result of groundwater vulnerability assessment to verify the result of groundwater vulnerability. Thencompare the result between intrinsic vulnerability and special vulnerability andAnalyze the impact of human activities on groundwater vulnerability of Horqin area.Finally, according to the result of groundwater vulnerability assessment, thisstudy put forward some apposite management advices about how to protectgroundwater resources in Horqin area.
