In the red layer of East Sichuan area, a large range(or local) strong rainfall weather tends to evoke large mass of landslide hazards. Especially in recent years, due to global warming, weather system disorders, results in local abnormal weather phenomenon more frequently and more high degree, and appears "special phenomenon of droughts and sharp". These factors exacerbated the outbreak of geological disasters. The bulk of the landslide disasters have concealment, strange, sudden and other characteristics, with its unique formation condition and evolution.Red layer landslide in East Sichuan mainly occurs in dipping strata sand and mud-interbed, divided into rock landslide and soil landslide. According to the difference of the inclination degree of landslide rock, the rock landslide is divided into flat push rockslide and slow-inclination rockslide. Flat push type landslide is mainly refers to the dip angle in 3 degrees to 5 degrees, the steepest of no more than 10 degrees and it is a very typical kind of landslide of East Sichuan. Flat push type landslide is divided into Plate girder-like landslide, Single-stage horizontal push landslide, Multi-stage horizontal push landslide according to the morphology and scale of flat push type landslide. slow-inclination rockslide is mainly refers to the dip angle between 10 degrees to 20 degrees gently dipping strata landslide. The trailing edge of this landslide don’t often have the catchment water storage condition such as flat push type landslide, the main start power is from the local hydrostatic pressure and the gravity along the slope direction of the force after the mudstone interlayer softened. Soil landslide could be divided into shallow surface soil landslide accumulation landslide according to the thickness of covering layer and forming mechanism. The soil landslide in East of Sichuan area is mainly to the shallow surface soil landslide.Early recognition of landslide is refers to the possible future landslide or possible large-scale deformation of the slope body early identification, in order to reduce the threats and losses of human people’s property caused by landslide disaster. It has been the key research and difficult subject of landslide at present. On the current situation of study on the early identification of landslide, it is very difficult to identify a potential landslide accurately. One reason is that cutting intense terrain, vegetation cover, poor visibility in field work factors have increased the difficulty of identifying; On the other hand, it is hard to find accurate and reliable identification mark of potential landslide because that regional differences in the structure and nature of the rock mass is quite large.Early recognition of this paper is mainly divided into early recognition of rock landslide and early recognition of soil landslide. For the early identification of rock landslides, mainly through the analysis of formation condition and evolution process of Plate girder-like landslide, horizontal push landslide, slow-inclination rockslide, we can summarize the geological models of all kinds of red layer rock landslide. Because horizontal push landslide and slow-inclination rockslide has some similarities, These two categories are grouped together for gently rock landslide. and then through combining with the remote sensing image collection and investigation of a large number of the ground, summarize the early identification mark from the two aspects of remote sensing and ground. For early identification of soil landslide, also in the grasp of the formation conditions and evolution process of shallow surface soil landslide and accumulation landslide, based on the combination of contrast of the typical examples’ remote sensing images before and after, summarize its early identification mark from the two aspects of remote sensing and ground.
