The genus Pestalotiopsis contains many species of fungi, one of which is Pestalotiopsis microspore. It consists of five cells:the middle three dark cells. It is mainly distributed in tropical and subtropical rainforest, and is assigned to the fungus from stems, leaves, flowers and fruits of the tree. According to the literature, this genus contains a number of novel structures and diversity of bioactive secondary metabolites. For example one of the typical examples is:paclitaxel, which has strong activity against the HIV. So many chemical researchers and scholars have a great deal of interest in the fungi of the genus.Talaromyces rotundus belonging to the blue fungus, is widely distributed around the world and a variety of climate zones, in addition to the relatively extreme cold habitats. The fungi have a good potential in inhibit of disease caused by plant pathogen, whose metabolic chitinase performance effective inhibition in activity of bacteria. Cloning the relevant gene, they made its expression and producted chitinase. Researching its nature and function through various means indicates that the chitinase has important meaning in disease resistance and breeding of variety plant. The relevant data proved that blue fungus can metabolize various, biologically active compounds, such lovastatin, a cholesterol-lowering drug. This kind of phenomenon has aroused the attention of many chemists and biologists. To understand further their secondary metabolism of Pestalotiopsis microspore and Talaromyces rotundus, this paper expounds that two fungi are cultivated with solid medium fermentation and their rough extraction of ethyl acetate had been comprehensive researched, by silicone column chromatography (CC), and preparation thin layer chromatography (PTLC), and Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography and MCI glue column chromatography, using EIMS and 1D NMR (1H NMR, 13C NMR and the DEPT),2D NMR (1H-1H COSY, HSQC, and HMBC) spectroscopy and single X-ray crystal diffraction analysis, and comparison with standard compounds, and according to the spectral data of relevant literature.27 compounds of structure have been identified. In the end of the paper, the chemical constituents and biological activity of components of pestalotiopsis are reviewed in recent years. The conclusion of the review were hoped to enrich natural products database, to provide a theoretical basis for drug screening, as well as to contribute to the development and utilization of natural resources in China.
