The landslide of Guanyin rock2, about two kilometres from Qianjiang distrct, islocated on the left bank of the Qianjiang River downstream, in the Qianjiang distrct ofChongqing city. Since it formatting, the landslide has been in the activities ofdeformation. Due to the landslise’s large-scale, it will cause bad influence to theXiaonanhai aqueducts and clog the Qianjiang River formatting the lake when thelandslide loses stability suddenly. It will make a direct threat to the property and thelives of1,800people in the old town of Qianjiang city, and cause the direct economiclosses of about90million. Therefore, it has important theoretical significance andapplication value to give a research on the stability of the landslide.Through the detailed analysis of the landslide area geological conditions, thispaper gives a comprehensive and systematic analysis to the basic characteristics, thegenetic mechanism and the influencing factors of the landslide of Guanyin rock2; Itanalyzes and evaluates the stability of landslide with the methods of limit equilibriummethod and numerical simulation;Based on the evaluation results of the stabilityanalysis, it studies on the selection of commonly preferred prevention measure,Finally, it analyses the effect of control engineering by means of the numericalsimulation software FLAC. The main research contents of the paper are as follows.(1)Based on the available information and combined with the fieldinvestigation results, this paper analysis geological conditions of the landslide area,and studies the deformation characteristics, deformation mechanism and influencingfactors of formation of the landslide of Guanyin rock2.(2)In order to study the stability under the the natural conditions of the storm,this paper uses the limit equilibrium method (the transfer coefficient method) toanalysis and calculates the stability of the landslide.It also uses FLAC software tomake a data simulate to the landslide. The paper gives such a systematic analysis onthe the strain and displacement of landslide under natural and storm conditions.(3)Based on the evaluation results of the stability analysis,this paper presents two works prevention programs,and studys on the selection of them, Finally, itanalyses the effect of control engineering by means of the numerical simulationsoftware FLAC,and ensures the feasibility of prevention programs.
