After years of geological exploration, the distribution of iron ore is clear inPohuoluolada mine, but the scale and storage location of copper ore body is not clear. The dipole induced polarization method was used to find out the distribution ofcopper ore. The anomaly belt was delineated by IP area exploration and thedistribution of the abnormal body was confirmed by depth exploration. Combinedwith the geological data, the scale and storage location of copper ore body werespeculated to provide basis for further engineering verification.Firstly, the background of searching for copper ore in basalt with dipoleamplitude frequency induced polarization method was described, and then a clearpurpose and significance of this thesis was made. The principle ofamplitude frequency induced polarization method was explored, the equivalence offrequency characteristic and the time characteristic was demonstrated, and theadvantages and features of the dipole amplitude frequency induced polarizationmethod was summarized in the second chapter. The abnormal characteristics ofinduced polarization body were explored by forward modelling of Two-dimensionalgeoelectric section and the polarization body’s position was speculated by inversemodeling. Based on the above, applying the results of the research to actualproduction, firstly analyzing the geological and geophysical characteristics in the area, and then processing the data of the dipole amplitude frequency induced polarizationmethod, finally a reasonable explanation for the abnormal was obtained and basis forfurther engineering verification were provided. Ultimately this thesis provides amethodological guidance and technical support in searching for copper mine in basalt.
