The northern chaohu, in the three border of northern part of the North China block,Dabie orogenic belt and the Yangtze block, is located in the northeastern margin of theYangtze block, lower Yangtze quasi-eastern edge of the North West station, the eastern side ofthe Tan-Lu fault zone. It is showing M-type folds styles and the tectonic pattern is verycomplex after the Mesozoic. But it is lack of system on the process of the tectonic evolutionin this area, especially in terms of the superposed tectonic transformation process. Because ofthe special position, it is not only deepen understanding through the study of the tectonicevolution, but also to guide teaching practice and regional geological resources exploration. The study takes the three principles and theories of “decomposition, dynamic, comprehensive” as guide to focus on researching the structural styles of the occur anddevelopment process in northern Chaohu as well as the dynamic mechanism of formation, based on extensive collection, data and research results of previous studies and thecombination of the right amount of field work.It is showing that the northern region of Chaohu can be divided into the northern part ofthe evolution of Indo-stage Chaohu, Yanshan stage and Himalayan stage according to thetectonic time and evolution procession. The northern chaohu in northern Indochina stage forms a research area “to a two-back”pattern of overall structure due to the NW-SE extrusion. Its power comes from the ancientsubduction of the Pacific Plate to the north when the plates shift Tanlu sinistral NWW-SEE inthe area caused by the compressional tectonic stress field.the study area of Yanshan stage which received the movement of the Pacific plate andthe Asian plate causing Tanlu fault a formation of left-shift again from nearly SN to squeeze, makes the region the axial fold NE-SW to SW plunging shape. Its power comes from theleft-handed pan and late translational movement in the early Yanshan by the process of thecollision and extrusion of the ancient Pacific plate with the Asian forum.Himalayan stage in the tectonic stress of the study area is mainly stretch tensile stress. The impact on the overall structure of forming the northern part of Chaohu is minimal. Overall, the current structure of this study area is formed under the influence of the levelof tectonic force in different directions. The mechanical mechanism in the different stagesdetermines the tectonic development characteristics in different periods; horizontal tectonicforces is the major factor on M-fold in Indochina stage and superimposed transformation inYanshan stage in the northern part of Chaohu...
