In recent years, as the economic develops rapidly, the demand for iron ore is rising. But Surface iron ore mining capacity can’t meet the needs of economic development, underground mining activities develop rapidly, and the mining scale is increasing. Anshan-Benxi region with a long history of iron ore mining is one of the major production base of iron ore, and there is a lot of underground mining engineering. Especially the predatory exploitation by Japan and Puppet Government and the surrounding the mine unregulated mining activities in recent years, there are a number of goafs left underground in the new or old mines, which has varied scale and distribute disorderly. The existence of a large number of mined-out area causes the crack, subsidence, landslides and other geological disasters occur frequently, which not only seriously affects the production of mining and other normal activities, but also threatens the safety of production staff seriously. Based on the electric conductivity difference between the different rock and mineral mined-out area, goafs of iron mines in Anshan-Benxi region are detected by high-density resistivity method, providing a reliable theoretical basis for the precise detection and protecting of productive activities and personnel safety effectively.The regional geology and the main iron ore deposit geology of Anshan-Benxi area is analyzed, the electrical characteristics of the major rock-forming minerals of iron ore deposits are summarized, and the resistivity of the main rock and ore body is measured. Then, the forward and inverse geo-electric models of goaf containing three commonly used devices, Wenner, dipole-dipole, and pole-dipole, are established under different geological conditions. The presence of geo-electric field distribution under different geological conditions is simulates by the models. The reflection and identification marks of different types of goafs are studied in the geo-electric sections. The effect of the existence of different geological body on the goaf reflecting is researched. The K ratio parameter and its model is established to eliminate the impact of the geological bodies and explore the weak anomaly goaf. The H ratio parameters is designed, and the K-H ratio parameters model is established, which can overcome the problem that the vertical distribution of the low resistivity goaf can’t be effectively reflected. The goafs, which is in first mined area, GongChangling region, is detected by used of the distribution regular of the geo-electric field summarized from the goaf geo-electrical models. The interpretation result is verified by the drilling, which shows the goaf geo-electrical model can simulate the distribution regular of the geo-electric field accurately, and can be used to detected the goaf accurately in Anshan-Benxi region.
