At home and abroad in recent years, the high energy heavy ionfragmentation in experiment and theory are extensively studied, itinvolves particle physics, nuclear physics and astrophysics, andother fields of science, and also has important application in thesefields.Interaction of400A MeV12C ion beam in Cu target is studiedusing the CR-39solid track detector. The total charge-changingcross-section, the partial cross-sections for projectile fragmentproduction, the scattering angles of400A MeV12C and emissionangles of projectile fragments after Cu target are calculated in thepresent work. The experimental results show that the totalcharge-changing cross-section is consistent with otherexperimental results at close energies and the predictions ofBradt-Peters semi-classical formula and the NUCFRG2model within experimental error. The partial cross-sections of projectilefragment production are consistent with other experimental results. The emission angle of secondary particles significantly greaterthan the scattering angle of the primary particles.
