Xianshuihe fault is one of the world’s most active faults, its high frequency and intensity of earthquake caught the attention of scholars both at home and abroad. The study of the relationship between fault activity and surface deformation has practical significance for protecting against and mitigating earthquake disasters. The disclination theory is the development and perfection of dislocation theory, but there is little research and application of disclination theory now, therefore, the in-depth study on the disclination theory has theory significance that is the development and improvement of the dislocation theory. In this paper,we simulated a single fault rotation with surface deformation based on the three-dimensional disclination and dislocation model, then we simulated the surface horizontal deformation that caused by the movement of Xianshuihe fault based on the dislocation model and disclination and dislocation model, respectively. Finally, we compared the results and obtained following conclusions:1、Single fault simulation by disclination and dislocation model results that the rotational angular size of the rectangular fault impact much on the size of deformation but impact little on the distribution of surface deformation field, and the direction of the rotation angle impacts on surface deformation; For the same rotation parameters, The change of the fault inclination affects not only the surface deformation value, but also significantly changed the distribution of surface displacement field. It indicates that we need to use the geological data and other constraints fault occurrence, when we study relationships between surface faulting and displacement,then it is possible to obtain reliable results.2 、 According to the experimental results which shows the relationship between Xianshuihe fault movement and surface deformation, we know that compared to the dislocation theory model, the ground deformation result simulated by three-dimensional disclination and dislocation model is better than the result simulated by dislocation model.And the results of the former had better consistency with GPS data. In order to make the simulation value with the GPS data more consistent, we should set small angle of the rotation,when we use three-dimensional disclination and dislocation model to simulate fault.
