In recent years, B38 fault block is the focus of the exploration area of Huabei Oilfield, also is the reservoir evaluation reported the key blocks of proved reserves and productivity construction. Through the last few years exploration and development practice shows, B38 fault block is crushing block structure, with big changes in transversal and longitudinal directions, which is a complex fault block reservoir. Due to the complexity fault block has the characteristics of a lot of faults and the broken of structural faces, leading to the traditional methods of reservoir description could not meet the requirements of this stage. In this paper, B38 complex fault block as an example, using fine reservoir description as the main research method. On the basis of a single sand body, I used a variety of disciplines theory and technology, such as modern stratigraphy, sedimentary facies, reservoir sand body description, phased reservoir modeling and reservoir potential analysis techniques. Due to the development status and problems of B38 complex fault block reservoir, I made a depth and detailed analysis of the study area with multidisciplinary combination. On the basis of existing knowledge, the target layers identified to 26 single sand bodies. In the analysis of the regional sedimentary background, and according to the sedimentary facies flags, I analyzed different types and characteristics of sedimentary microfacies. Meanwhile, I took a detailed analysis of the basic reservoir properties, pore structures, reservoir distribution characteristics, and calculated the geological reserves of B38 block. Using of professional geological modeling software to deal with the connection of complex faults reasonably. Making a stochastic modeling with sedimentary facies as a control condition to establish a static 3D geological model, making the reservoirs have a more clear and intuitive understanding. Ultimately, due to the problems of present situation, I made an analysis of reservoir potential, and made recommendations to improve the ability of dig potential solutions.
