With the characteristics of high stiffness and light weight, sandwich plate can take full advantage of composite effect and absorb the impact load effectively. It is widely used in aviation, shipbuilding, construction and other industries.This paper has studied the linear and nonlinear random vibration problems of a laminated circular plate under the action that the sandwich is powered and electromagnetic field is coupling with mechanical field. It mainly about linear and nonlinear random vibration problem of a laminated circular plate in transverse magnetic field when giving the stationary white noise random current or white noise random load. According to the theory of plates and shells,the magneto-elastic theory and the random vibration theory of continuum, both the linear and nonlinear magneto-elastic random vibration equations of a laminated circular plate in the magnetic field can be derived. After using the Galerkin’s method to simplify the two vibration equations of the laminated circular plate, the variance and probability density of displacement response and the speed response about linear or nonlinear random vibration of the laminated circular plate in the magnetic field were calculated.For a laminated circular plate in transverse magnetic field, in view of the specific example, with the ideal stationary white noise random current or plus white noise random load to calculate respectively the variance and the probability density of displacement response and speed response. The diagrams of the variance and probability density of the displacement and the speed were shown here. The effects of the variations of the thickness of the plate, the magnetic field and the mechanical load to the random responses of the plate were discussed. It concludes that the random vibration of the sandwich circular plate can be controlled through controlling the change of magnetic field and mechanical field and the thickness of the sandwich plate.
