Copper, shortage of mineral, is industrial and civilian important precious metal and has a significant role in our production and life. The shortage is great for widespread demand. Recently the domestic geological prospecting units carry out actively overseas mineral exploration work with the "going out" strategy.Copper mines, in Solwezi, Northwest Province, Zambia distribute in the world famous Lufilian arc fold. the prospecting and mining rights held by a number of mineral companies of China and Canada scatter in the region, at the same time, the copper exploration and exploitation carry on.Through the investigation about the regional stratigraphy, tectonics, mineral assemblages, mineralization zoning and other aspects, the research on the geological characteristics of the deposit and ore genesis is very important significance in study of the metallogenic belt metallogenic regularity and prospecting direction.Synthesizing the stratum, structure, magmatic rocks and geological characteristics of the deposit, the genesis of copper deposits are analyzed, and the metallogenic regularity studied, and the prospecting direction pointed out. the main results as following:1. Through the work, the formation, lithology, main structure and distribution of magmatic rock, mineralization and alteration characteristics and their relationship with mineralization are initially identified.2. Based on the class of near zone data and comprehensive research, the copper deposit is sedimentary, produced in Ron formation, and strictly controlled by strata. The dome uplift and other activities have contributed to the formation of ore bodies.3. Summarized the metallogenic regularity, ore control factors and the rule of the enrichment of copper, the strata and structure are effective prospecting criteria.4. Comprehensive analysis and analogy of the same kind of mines in the ore-forming geological conditions, ore controlling factors, and mineralization regularities, the southwest area, geophysical abnormal displayed high polarization rate and low resistivity, may be the mineralization zones, and further surbey work should be carried out to control the depth and find new copper ore bodies. In short, the area has great potential for prospecting and resources.
