Qinshui basin has a high degree of coal metamorphism, fine thickness and coal seam buried depth is measurable. And the area structure is simple. From the perspective of the formation of coalbed methane, it is one of the most favorable area of coalbed methane exploration and development in our country. However, in the process of coalbed methane exploration leapfrog development, there are still many unsolved problems. Especially in the southern Qinshui basin single well gas production rate and gas production time were comparatively large difference It is important to develop and utilize the coalbed methane for improving the safety of coal mine production and using the environment of high efficiency energy and environment protection. This essay based on a project from Huabei oil field, mainly did some research on the coalbed methane rich spot as following work below:This paper firstly analyzes the actual seismic data, the present status of regional coal bed methane, reinterpreted structure. The disagreements caused great difficulties in exploring the coalbed methane. The structural history of selecting main profile, then determined the regional strike-slip fault system formed by tectonic background. Then found the research area stealth strike-slip fault zone in the basin, the strike-slip tectonic pattern is determined. And analyzes the strike-slip tectonics of coal-derived gas control function and the influence of the preservation condition. I reprocessed the data including seismic data and well data in order to meet the need of inversion. I reconstructed the shale curve and the result is good, saved the thin layer information and is ready for pre-stack prediction. The area has the problem of lacking shear wave log, based on the grey relational analysis optimization according to the method of analysis of the rock physics method, rebuilt the well curve model, and finally get the shear wave curve, has self-agreement at more than 90%. Finally I used the processed date to inverse, inversion results and stratigraphic correlation attribute analysis and other methods to forecast the coalbed methane favorable zones in the study area, the research results are obtained..
