Induced polarization method is applied in the metal sulfide ore exploration, one of the commonly used method is often used with DC resistivity method. How to improve the calculation efficiency, improve the calculation accuracy, computational stability, is the purpose of the induced polarization method forward simulation study,the aim of research for the inversion calculation, is to study different inversion accuracy and stability of the model. Finite difference method is a kind of classic numerical methods, it has the advantage of the method is simple, easy to programming implementation. Based on the finite difference forward, according to the principle of regularization to establish inversion objective function, and the objective function for the optimal solution. Select different iteration technique, to explore the effect on the inversion calculation precision and stability. This paper studies the 3-D induced polarization method of three-dimensional numerical simulation, the problem is the inversion problem of different inversion accuracy and stability of the model, the inversion parameters of damping factor influence on inversion, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of different methods of inversion iteration.Induced polarization method in the forward problem in the study, on the basis of DC resistivity method, based on the principle of equivalent resistivity, the preparation of the induced polarization method forward modeling program. Mainly the rule model of finite difference forward modeling calculation and analytic calculation, physical simulation experiment, studies have shown that: by comparison with the error analysis shows that induced polarization method, 3-D finite difference forward modeling calculation is accurate and stable.The inversion of induced polarization method of study, mainly for different resistivity,polarization characteristic of abnormal body model and inversion study, to explore the inversion accuracy of single model, the multi-body model and stability, as well as the different inversion parameters, damping factor effect on the inversion results, the study of different inversion iteration technique, Gauss- Newton method, the rider’s Levenberg-Marquardt method for the applicability of the noise data inversion.Research proves that: select the appropriate damping coefficient, the three dimensional induced polarization method, high vertical resolution and horizontal resolution of inversion of Gauss- Newton method can be well applied to the observed data of the inversion calculation of signals with noise.
