The Loess Plateau is one of the most important human activities. In recent years, with the implementation of the western development strategy in China, the rapid socio-economic development in the Loess Plateau, increasingly strong mine construction, water conservancy and hydropower project construction of residential buildings and mountain building of human engineering activities, the geological disasters of slope caused by growing It has become an important factor restricting the rapid economic development of the Loess Plateau.In this paper, the mechanism of deformation failure caused by toe excavation for research purposes, to Yijun County Wanshou square slope as the research object, in the basis of detailed field survey, topographic mapping, drilling and other work on data analysis by the terms of the geological environment background conditions of slope failure mechanism degeneration, slope stability and governance programs were analyzed to obtain the following main conclusions and results:(1) Deformation and failure process of the slope: lithological composition, slope structure, its structure is unstable internal of failure; the role of topography, human activities, water is its external instability of failure. Where the topography has laid a direction of substantially unstable slope; slope geological factors is the basis of internal damage; a key factor in slope stability is human activity and rainfall.(2) After more in-depth analysis the basic features, aspect deformation features, geotechnical characteristics of the development process and other characteristics of the overall slope, the form of the slope deformation and failure is slippage.(3) Wanshou square slope degeneration destroy the whole process of evolution is expressed as: excavation, a stress concentration areaâ†'continuous excavation, free face becomes highâ†'toe toe to destroy the slope cracks extendedâ†'pull the trailing edge of the leading edge of the shear failure zones and shear failure zone interaction skid slip surface segmentâ†'through, skid segment destruction, landslides destroyed.Overall damage deformation(4) Slope failure is not instantaneous, but gradually expanded from a local damage to the whole process of progressive failure.
