Earthquake disasters not only caused huge economic damage to society, but also brought serious psychic trauma to the human beings. Thus, evaluating the casualty loss in future earthquakes and controlling the number of seismic casualties to the minimum level is particularly important. Although the randomness and uncertainty of the earthquakes still exist, the location and quantity of casualties inside the collapsed structures can be evaluated effectively. The simulation of occupant evacuation process in the collapsing building structure can realize quantitative evaluation of the casualties. However the researches in this filed are not enough. The dynamic characteristics of the occupants evacuation process have heavy effects on the distribution and quantity of casualties. Cellular Automata(CA) model is usually used to simulate the dynamic evacuation process in former researches.According to the shortages of current researches, this paper focuses on the simulating of the evacuation process based on the characteristics of the dynamic evacuation process, and then analyzing the casualties caused by the structure collapsing under earthquake loading. In addition, this paper also develops a system which can simulate the occupant evacuation process and predict the occupant casualties within the collapsed building under earthquake. The specific contents are shown as follows:(1) The static attraction, dynamic attraction, gather attraction in the occupants evacuation process are all considered in this paper, and the effect of various attraction parameters on evacuation time and the variation coefficient in the room are studied. The function relation between the evacuation time and these attraction parameters is provided, and the relationship between evacuation characteristics parameters and occupants evacuation time is analyzed quantitatively.(2) The evacuation process of occupants in the frame structure building is simulated. The distribution of occupants casualties and the number of occupants casualties are both study by coupling the occupants evacuation process and the finite element simulation of collapse process of frame structure with a same time and same space which provides effective contribution for post-seismic relief commands and the design of rescue plan.(3) A system of occupant evacuation simulation and prediction of occupant casualties within collapsed building under earthquake is developed. The variation of the occupants evacuation process and occupants casualties distribution based on the effects of different evacuation attraction parameters is study. Then the evacuation process with obstacles or not can be simulated, casualties distribution can be predicted and the size of structure can be optimized.
