With the rapid development of the modern industrial technology, cold-rolled stripsteel plays an increasingly important role in the national productive sector such as nationaldefense, nuclear power, petrochemical, having a broad application space. The picklingcold rolling mill has a direct impact on the quality and yield of the strip, which is acted asits main production equipment.This paper mainly penetrates deeply to research the control strategy on the objectiveof1450mm pickling and tandem cold mill, aiming at the problem of hydraulic roll gapcontrol, and the practical application has achieved good control effect. The main contextshow as follow:Firstly, the paper introduces the basic theory of the hydraulic roll gap control (HGC),analyzing the main function of the system and the control mode. We introduce every partin detail based on this.Secondly, we give the design of the hardware of the HGC. We choose Siemens TDCas the primary controller. The article describes briefly the implementation of the deviceand the operating principle and hardware control circuit.Finally, we design the software of the system including the program and thehuman-machine interface (HMI). Not only does the program include the basic controlfunction, it involve a serial of the protected measure; in the HMI, we install severalfunctions such as the parameter settings, fault diagnosis and alarming and devicemonitoring, leading the control system to have a large advantage of convenience anddirection.
