When the steel strip was transported in the Pickling Line-Tandem Cold Mill which was belonged to the Hunan Lianyuan Iron and Steel Group Limited Company, it was moving away from the rolling center lines because of the long length of the production lines, the bad strip quality and other reasons.The quality of the final product was affected, in the bad situation , the equipment was even damaged. In this paper, that is, for Valin Lianyuan Steel pickling cold-rolling line to carry out steering research. The object is to design a new steering roll equipment by developing the deflecting roll and a Electro-hydraulic Servo Center Position Control systems.First of all, the mechanism of strip deviation for pickling and rolling strip-line was in-depth analyzed theoretically, a common strategy to control the deviation of the strip was introduced. The basic principles of the strip running on the ordinary cylindrical roller and the working principle of the steering roll were analyzed, we also studied the feasibility of changing the deflecting roller to steering roller, and then we identified corrective reform program. The ratio type of steering device used for centering control was put forward, then we analyzed the design and moving of the steering equipment.Later on, the key parts and the key factors which affect the accuracy and the speed of response for the centering control system was analyzed, the electro-hydraulic servo centering system which use the PI control strategy was designed ,the mathematical model of the Center Position Control Electro- hydraulic Servo system is established. Through the software Matlab , the dynamic simulation of the steering system was put forward and the system parameters was optimized, the dynamic simulation results show that the control system was fast response and high precision, better real-time, and the stability. Final we installed and commissioned the reform steering system, the result shows the steering system which we reformed and designed satisfied the strip deviation function.
