| Ceramics materials get a abroad apply in aviation, automobile industry field because of its highrigidityã€high strengthã€high abrasive resistance and corrosion resistance etc..But it has difficulty inhigh precision machining because of the big brittleness, at present, precision machining of ceramicsmaterials are usually realized by fine-grained diamond grinding wheel, but it can’t efficientlyguarantee surface figure accuracy and material removal rate,especially the grinding wheel life is short.Coarse-grained diamond wheel, due to its high bond strength,large inter-grit chip space and highgrit protrusion, has long grinding wheel life, high surface figure accuracy and material removal. Butthe shortcoming is that the surface roughness is very low, in order to realize precision machining ofSiC ceramics, it is very imperative to precisionly dress coarse-grained diamond wheelThe method of using diamond plate wheel with140/170#grain to dress coarse diamond grindingwheel with40/50#grain was proposed in this dissertation. The main research works are as follows:(1) The plate wheel dressing principle and evaluation of dressing effect were summarized. Then,the dressing set-up and diamond plate wheel were designed and manufactured.(2) The dressing experiments of coarse diamond grinding wheel with40/50#grain usingdiamond plate wheel with140/170#grian were conducted. In order to evaluate and analysis thedressing effect, the changes of the grit-tip distances from the base of wheel substrate and the particlemorphology were tracked, the changes of the surface qualities and grinding force of SiC ceramicsworkpieces were observed.(3) The high speed grinding process experiments of coarse diamond grinding wheel with40/50#grain on SiC ceramics were carried out after the dressing experiments, The effect of different grindingparameters(different wheel speed, different feed rate, different depth of cut)on surface roughnessã€ground surface morphology and grinding force of the SiC ceramics was studied under high speedgrinding conditions to evaluate the grinding performance of coarse diamond grinding wheel afterdressing. |
