Mechanical excavators are necessary producing equipments for lots of strip minewhich are driven by electrical powers, in this way, the efficiency of them is very high. Butthey work in relatively poor working environment, therefore they are suitable forlarge-scale strip mine as well as earthwork operations. Lifting boom and the arms of bucketsystem is one of the most important working parts of the working device, in order to fulfillthe stringent requirements of design, the system requires efficient overall stiffness, strength, flexibility and reliability. Therefore, it is very significant to study deeply of the system. In this paper, in-depth study of the working device is mainly in the following aspects:1. Force analysis of working conditions choice of the Lifting boom and the arms ofbucket. In this paper, based on the characteristics of their forces, I choose two typicaloperating conditions to make the force analysis of the Lifting boom and the arms of bucketrespectively.2. Establishing the model of the boom and arms firstly, and making the finite elementmodel analysis secondly. In both conditions, I get the displacement and stress clouds byusing the ANSYS Workbench software, and we can receive their natural frequency andidentify where the strength of the structure is weak through the clouds.
