Baiyin Nonferrous Group Company Limited is a large integrated enterpriseengaged in mining, dressing and smelting. The slag as an industrial waste, producedby the copper smelting system, has not been developed and utilized. At present, thereis nearly800tons of smelting slag which Contained high content of heavy metalpollutants. We must pay highly maintain costs for the smelting slag and, the moreserious is that these heavy metals will pollute the soil, water and even the atmosphere,deteriorate the quality of the circumjacent environment.Based on the successful operate experiences of the domestic and internationalsmelting slag, we recover copper concentrates using slag, and the remaining as theraw materials of cement industry. In some cases, this research can reduce thedependence on the outsourcing, enhance the ability to resist risks, and improve themarket competitiveness of the products.It can turn waste into treasure, change harm for benefit though of smelting slagrecycling and transform the sources of pollution into renewable resources. Weconsider the use of existing production equipment, facilities, so that low-input, highoutput, low energy consumption, pollution-free, and high back to the water cycleutilization. Using advanced process technology and equipment for processing coppersmelting slag, such that the output of copper concentrates can be used as high-qualitymaterials, and achieve zero-discharge of Concentrator Tailing. The program almostdoes not produce wastewater and solid pollutants emissions, because of the design offull recovery for the tailings resource and recycling for the wastewater. Those whichis “reduction, reutilization, resource” reflect the principles of conservation andcomprehensive utilization. Our method not only conducive to environmentalprotection and production safety, and is conducive to the sustainable development ofthe company, but can also bring considerable economic benefits for the enterprise.Our study fit the overall requirements of building saving-type andenvironment-friendly society. This method tries to solve the environmental pollutionproblems produced by smelting slag though of reutilization, and reach the limit of theresource integrated utilization. Our work has a positive influence on improving the level of resource integrated utilization in nonferrous industry, and provide referencesto other metal smelting slag processing.
