Steel is the industrial base. The disadvantages are long production cycle, high energyconsumption and high pollution in ordinary steelmaking process; the advantages are shortproduction cycle, lower energy consumption and lower pollution in UHP steelmakingprocess, UHP is the main research direction of the steel industry to sustainabledevelopment. Because UHP power technology has been monopolized by foreign relatedcompanies, domestic electric arc furnace’s power supply technology research is still insmall capacity and low power levels. This study has important implications for the designUHP supply system.This article from the theory of electric arc furnace steelmaking, discusses thecomposition and the basic principle of UHP systems, analyze units and function of UHPsystems, put forward the main technical difficulties and overcome measures. Research theUHP transformer and UHP short-net, the technical features and design principles about thesystem of UHP deeply. This paper focuses on the design principles of the power supplysystem, analysis of the nature and level of the power load, design neutral grounding,.Based on the information,design a reasonable Key One-line Diagram of electrical system,detailed discussion of each system consisting of the Key One-line Diagram, analysis ofKey One-line Diagram electrical parameters, Calculate System per unit, draw theequivalent reactance diagram. Calculation of power system short-circuits current and UHPcurrent working conditions, to obtain the relevant electrical technical parameters, providethe necessary and accurate technical parameters for the selection and verification ofelectrical equipment. Calculate and verification the electrical equipment for testing theaccuracy of choice and ensuring the accuracy of the design. Calculate the minimumshort-circuit current and the current value of working conditions, the date will serve as abasis for the relay protection sensitivity verification.
