Electric power is the main energy and motivation of industrial production. Since electrizition , the producion grows to a large extent, the qualily increases, the efficiency rises, the cost decreases, the labor intensity lowers, the working condition improves, automation is benefited as well. Therefore, to do well in workshop power supply is of great significance to develop industrial production, realize the modernization of industry.This paper introduced the algorith of load calculation, the choice of neutral point operation mode, as well as the short-circuit calculation in model construction of workshop power supply. As to the substation design, this paper presneted the method and basis in substation design, choice of electrical equipment, transmission line and transformer protection operation calculation, and makes conclusion for the problems that should be concerned in substation design. Also, this paper analyzed and concluded the allocation of high and low voltage motors, the bridge, lighting and thunderproof grounding, provided the method to calculate or select and briefly introduced the significance and measures for power conservation.In the end, take the project of"Huating zhongxu coal-chemical corporation Ltd 600,000 ton carbinol production per year"as example, this paper presented the necessary contents during diffierent design stages, and provided the results of the design and the problems met in realily.
