With the rapid economic development, glass has been widely applied in our dailylives, which produce large amounts of waste glass.Only a small amount of waste glass hasbeen fully reused.Typically, waste glass is buried in the land.As the glass component inthe landfill is difficult to decompose. This will not only result in a waste of resources, butalso the destruction of farmland, destroying the environment.Today, concrete is the world’s largest consumption building material. To apply wasteglass to the cement concrete is one of the important means to deal with waste glass.According to previous studies, applying waste glass to the concrete as aggregate causedAlkali-silica Reaction, most of which lead to alkali-silicate expansionhazards.Nevertheless, waste glass pulverized into powder, the powder has pozzolanicactivity, which will improve the compacting strength of the concrete. At the same time, the finely grounded glass powder also inhibits the alkali-aggregate reaction. The chemicalcomposition of tempered glass is similar to flat glass, and therefore, this thesis study theapplying of tempered glass powder into the cement paste and mortar as mineral admixture. And study the feasibility of the tempered glass powder used as mineral admixture.Applying of tempered glass powder into the cement concrete has better social, environmental and economic benefits. This paper respectively grinds the crushed tempered glass which size is12mm for1h,2h and3h to get three kinds of glass powders of different fineness. To measure the densityof the specific surface area, particle size distribution and other characteristic parametersof tempered glass powder. The tempered glass partly replaces the cement as mineraladmixtures to make cement pastes and cement mortarsthen measure the strength of the pastsand mortars on the coordinate age. Mainlystudy the content and fineness of the tempered glasspowder, the curing time of the specimens on the mechanical properties ofmortar.Selecting the representative strength development mortar to have mortar barexpansion test then observing the expansion of the corresponding mortar bar, andmicroscopic observation of its120d case. Observing the microscopic properties of themortar and analyzing the fineness, content’s impact on the mortar.①The tempered glass powder mainly contains SiO2, in an amount of up to69.07%.②The tempered glass powder is flaky or needle-like, angular obvious, uniformparticle size distributed. The density and the specific surface area decreases with the increase of the grinding time. The sizeof the tempered glass powder particle mainlyconcentrates in5μm~20μm room.③The waste tempered glass powder has pozzolanic activity, lower than the blastfurnace, andthe active of grinding1h tempered glass powder is best,reaching76.4%.④Thetempered glass powdercement paste’s fluidity is smaller than the referencegroup. Its initial and final setting time is longer than the reference group. It has retardingeffect on the settting time of the cement.⑤The waste tempered glass powder can improve the long-term mechanicalproperties of the cement, when the content is under25%, the strength of the specimenswhich added1h grinding tempered glass powder have the highest strength.⑥The expansion of mortar barswhich contain the waste tempered glass powder isless than the reference group. The tempered glass powderscan effectively inhibit ASR.
