The Study Of Qin Embroidery Art And The Application In Fashion Design

Shaanxi Province, located in the Loess Plateau, is the cradle ofChinese culture. With a long history, it has generated outstanding peopleand smart land. The textile and embroidery history of the old timesrepresents the degree of civilization. Shaanxi, where thirteen dynastiesmade the capital, is also unique in textile and embroidery. Even today,the folk women skilled in embroidery like to do the embroidery together.This paper expounded art characteristics, craft techniques andcultural connotation of Qin embroidery through its two differentdefinitions and aimed to expand further excavation and innovation byanalyzing its craftsmanship, the patterns form, color features, etc.In the preliminary stage of research, the author visited several majorQin embroidery regions of Shaanxi, mainly including Qianyang County,Fengxiang County and Xianyang region. Targeted in local cultural centersor mass art centers, as well as local folk artists and with the field-basedresearch method, the author has achieved a preliminary understanding ofQin embroidery art. After that, the author got a further consolidationand deep understanding of Qin embroidery art by looking up literalmaterial.Most of the Qin embroidered art themes reflected their ideologicalcontents in the farmers’ love of life, natural, and social life and goodwishes. With distinctive characteristics and a higher degree ofrecognition, Qin embroidery craft technique was special and changing institch. Different needles were sufficient to form different patterns withrich enjoyment which made it very suitable to be developed combined withcontemporary design.With Qin embroidery art as a starting point, this paper introducedthe research background, source and culture, cited pictures of fieldsurvey and made specific analysis of all aspects of the study object hoping to absorb these elements deeply and make deconstruction and restructuringto explore more innovative development and achieve a combination of modernfashion design, so as to explore design ideas with local characteristics.The author’s graduation project is about Qin embroidery art with thepurpose of achieving experimental design of Qin embroidery art and modernfashion design and finding the suitable combination method through thereference of other designers and design brands successfully inembroidery.This design idea, although not a great breakthrough, but is definitelya bold tentative experiential and innovative design. As a kind of artsand crafts, most of the productions of Qin embroidery art are on displayin a glass frame. This model has some limitations. The author hopes thatmore Qin embroidery artworks can come out into people’s lives and beinjected more fresh vitality. In combination with the costume designprocess, the traditional Qin embroidery art technology should be retained.The designers can learn from the cultural and ideological connotationsof Qin embroidery art, so its pattern composition and color matching canbe more in line with modern design ideas. They can also make appropriateadjustments and changes to match the overall design. This innovativedesign idea combines Chinese clothing original design and Chineseelements, also plays the role in the promotion of Chinese original design.As a handmade art, Qin embroidery art can not be replaced by industrialproduction. The inheritable was passed from mouth to mouth and had littletextual record. Lack of systematic theoretical data, but the image datawas abundant. Today, the skilled and experienced embroidery masters beginto make classification Qin embroidery art techniques and compile teachingmaterials to make efforts for the retention and heritage of this valuablefolk art. In the near future, Qin embroidery art is hoped to have moreperfect theoretical guidance system, and applied in the design processto get more powerful promotion and get more opportunities for innovationand development in combination with different products. Through theseefforts, this precious folk handmade art could have more opportunitiesof going to a more diversified market and a broader platform to inspiremore different kinds of novel design inspiration and get more understanding.
