Weihe River is one of the most important birthplaces of China, and it’s also the largesttributary of the Yellow River. Due to its special geographical location and historical value,Weihe River watershed is identified as one of three priority and focus on development area. However, as one of the typical endemic diseased areas in our country, Weihe River watershedare mainly exist endemic fluorosis, endemic goiter, Keshan disease and Kashin-Beck disease, and the endemic diseases have a large impact on the health of local residents and constraintsthe development of the economy. The prevalence and incidence of endemic occurrence isclosely related to the local ecoenvironmental geochemistry, mainly including regional geologyand geomorphology, hydrogeological conditions, rock types, geochemical conditions, diet anddrinking water quality on the current study. After a long period of exploration andaccumulation, the data and information in these fields are relatively abundant, but jumbledand dispersed. In order to reflect these rich data reasonably and effectively, it’s highlyimportant to draw up ecoenvironmental geochemistrymaps of typical local ward. Therefore, this paper takes Weihe River as research background and ecoenvironmental geochemistry inlocal ward as study object. Based on the results of previous studies and full collection of basicinformation about geomorphology and hydrogeology, the regional hydrogeologyinvestigations are replenished, and groundwater samples are collected. The researchachievements are mainly as followed:(1) By studying the relationship between endemic diseases and ecological geochemicalenvironment, the distribution and severity of endemic diseases are related to multiple factors, including regional topography, hydrogeological conditions, rock types, geochemicalconditions and the quality of drinking water. One or several factors working together controlthe occurrence of endemic diseases.(2) The map compilation theoretical system of ecoenvironmental geochemistryin typicallocal ward is put forward. The principles of map compilation are fundamentality, particularity, comprehensiveness and practicability. Based on the AHP and comprehensive evaluationmethod, each evaluation index is scored and calculates the weight, and the software MapGISis used to map compilation. In order to unify the map compilation with norm, twelve technical requirements about the preparation of maps, contents reflection, base map and the final mapsare proposed.(3) The maps, icons and legends of ecoenvironmental geochemistry in typical local wardare compilated. Combined with the actual situation of the study area, forty maps in total arecompilated from six aspects, mainly about the sequence diagram, hydrogeologicalenvironment, hydrogeochemical environment, ecoenvironmental geochemistry, drinkingwater safety evaluation and groundwater function regionalization.
