Defibrator is the mechanical equipment which produces medium density fiberboard(MDF).Its operation condition restricts the production cost and economic benefits, while thekey to the performance and potential of defibrators is the material for fiberboard refiner plateof defibrators. The high chromium white cast iron qualifies higher toughness, heat resistanceand abrasion resistance than ordinary one, which benefits from the characteristics of itself.Therefore, the high chromium white cast iron has been widely applied in the producing ofnew materials for fiberboard refiner plate of defibrators.In the dissertation, to provide for fiberboard refiner plate of defibrators.a kind of materialthrough hardness, impact and wear test, the microstructure, properties and wear resistance ofthe high chromium white cast iron were studied, under the condition of different cooling ways,different quenching temperature, tempering temperature, carbon content and adding alloyingelements by means of Optical microscope (OM), scanning electron microscope(SEM). Theresults of the experiment indicated that: The microstructure of high chromium cast iron after1060℃air quenching×2h(preheated)+470℃tempering after×2h(preheated) is the martensiticmatrix, the uniform distribution of small type M7C3carbide, the large dispersion ofsecondary carbides, the small amount of residual austenite. The high chromium cast ironhaving been processed performs better mechanical properties. The hardness is up to HRC61.2.And the impact energy reaches9.5J·cm-2and has high anti-wear material wear ability.Later, in order to test the wear resistance of fiberboard refiner plate, the wear resistanceand surface analysis of high chromium cast iron are investigated by means of wear test onML-10model pin-disk. The result showed that high chromium cast iron has high anti-wearmaterial wear ability, especially under the condition of low load and fine size test condition. Italso showed extremely superior wear resistance, whose characteristics on the grinding is thedecrease of the grooves, scratches, peeling pits, and the weaker surface wear.
