Products Design And Research On The Comprehension Utilization Of Residual Materials From Redwood Furniture Manufacturing Enterprise

This thesis analyzed the use status of redwood furniture companies on excess materials, recognized the potential value of processing excess materials, analyzed excellent application cases and summarized corresponding design principles and comprehensive utilization approaches of design-led using the methods of documentation researching, field survey, comparative analytic approach, inductive reasoning and practicing. This research says that:The major source of excess materials consists of flawed materials, residual material, process allowance and scrapped pieces. While Properties of which are different and can be divided regular materials and irregular ones according to their morphological properties. Though redwood furniture companies get no systerm on utilization of excess materials, it’s feasible to make product design of redwood excess materials because of their useful and obvious propertities, low cost and mature process. Designs of redwood excess materials should follow the priciples that make the most use of them, raise the additional value and get the best comprehensive benefits in order to improve the utilization and additional value of raw materils. Related product designs were made on redwood excess materials by fitting the dress to the figure, coordinating with the product type and reconstructing, guiding the form by circumstances,exaggerating and combinating colors and veins based on the analysis and reference of sucessful cases. And related priciples were vefied by cases like "Juan","Wa","QianQuan"and "ChunGu".
