Water is the source of our life, because water is a kind of important material for human’ssurvival and development, water management has been dominated by the government.Songhua River is the mother river of the people of Jilin City, and it is closely related topeople’s daily life. In recent years, the Songhua River water pollution incidents occurfrequently, which arouse the attention of people. Even though our government has alreadyrealized the importance of public participation, in fact it has continued the “all around”government management mode and hasn’t met the effect and importance of the public whichgive play to prevent and control water pollution. As a result, it’s becoming an urgent issue toenhance the degree of public participation and give full play to prevent and control waterpollution.According to analyzing the concept of public participation in the prevent and control ofwater pollution, public participation mechanism in the prevent and control of water pollution,by means of investigating the physical truth of the public participation mechanism in theprevention and control of water pollution of Songhua River in Jilin City, analyses theproblems of public participation mechanism in the prevention and control of water pollutionof Songhua River in Jilin City, puts forward the ideas and measures to consummate publicparticipation mechanism in the prevention and control of water pollution of Songhua River,and puts forward constructive suggestions to strengthen the in the prevention and control ofwater pollution of Songhua River for our government in the future.
