An overview of overall development of separation methods and development ofhydrocyclones was given, at the same time, comparison between axial inlet hydrocyclone andtangential inlet hydrocyclone was made. advantages of axial inlet hydrocyclone wasintroduced. Structure design, numerical simulation and experimental research of vane-guidedhydrocyclones were carried out. Core of the hydrocyclone structure is design of guide-vanestructure. Structure design of this part applied a three-dimensional modeling software,UG.Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software was used to fulfill simulation. The first partis the analysis on the flow field of hydrocyclone. It includes contrast figures for differentsections. Tangential velocity, radial velocity and axial velocity were analysed in detail. Thesecond part is mainly about structure optimization of hydrocyclone structure, which includesvortex-cavity length, half cone angle, diameter of overflow outlet, length of overflow tube,vane angle, and vane number. Experimental study was finished indoor. It includes diameteroptimization, split ratio and flowrate optimization, and influence of flowrate on pressure loss.Prototype experimental study was carried out for validating the rationality of the designstructure, and verifying the correctness of simulation and further providing a reference forstructural optimization as well.
