As a special processing what is a non-traditional machining (NTM), electrical discharge machining (EDM) echnology is the important constituent, and has been applied in production practice earlier. Compared with other traditional machining methods, EDM has great advantage, which can almost process any conductive material, and it can break through the limitation on the tool hardness of workpiece. Since EDM is a non-touch processing, it can lower the hardness and stiffness requirements of tool electrode to the minimum. Moreover, electrical discharge machining technology can realize the special shape of parts processing. Edm has its limits, especially in the small hole edm, and the problems is that processing speed is slow, electrode wear, and the ratio of depth to diameter is small, etc. To solve above problems, the technology of composite electrode and dispersant working fluid processing is proposed in this paper.Tool electrode materials and the kinds of dispersants are analyzed and selected in this paper, and the preparation methods of composite tool electrode, dispersant, working liquid preparation process and its working mechanism are studied, and connecting with the experiment and simulation are studied, the main contents are as follows:(1) This paper discusses the influence of various factors of EDM, the electrode material and working fluid were analyzed to improve the processing performance, the influence mechanism, for the preparation of compound tool electrode and the preparation of the aqueous dispersant working liquid has laid a theoretical basis.(2) The objective of this paper introduces the current EDM performance which commonly used in all kinds of electrode materials, the status quo of research both at home and abroad, and provides reference for reasonable selection of electrode materials, and composite materials for feasibility analysis as a tool of the electrodes.Aiming at monomer in EDM small hole machining metal as the shortage of tool electrode, put forward the thinking of using different materials of excellent properties of composite, explore the new methods to improve the tool electrode, the electrochemical composite coating was illustrated in detail the technology, the preparation of Cu in copper matrix-Ni composition tool electrode.(3) According to the present to engine oil, kerosene, and the present situation of the EDM of deionized water as working liquid, combining with the related discipline knowledge, aqueous dispersants was introduced in the working fluid.Mechanism of dispersant on the electric erosion particles were analyzed and the selection principle.Based on the stability of the dispersant, made up a new type of water-based T-225that is given priority to with polymer dispersant working liquid and preparation process are introduced in detail.(4) ANSYS12.0software as the aid of finite element analysis in the thermal analysis module of single pulse discharge in EDM discharge temperature field,and electric erosion pit simulation, the geometry shape and size of the discharge crater radius with electrode materials. The relationship between the resistance loss of electrode materials with different degree that has played a very important role in forecasting.(5) Experiment is studied by using high-speed EDM small hole processing machine tool. The results show that the Cu-Ni composite electrode and dispersant aqueous fluid during EDM small hole machining, hole processing speed increased by30%~70%, the tool electrode relative loss reduce50%-70%, hole taper was reduced by10%~15%;For the preparation of compound tool electrode and a new type of dispersant working fluid dispensing technology economy analysis that popularization and application has great reference value.EDM processing mechanism of composite tool electrode and aqueous dispersants working liquid which is systematically and detailed studied in this paper.A relatively economic composite electrode is developed, and new type of working fluid is made. The research should be of great significance for the further development and its applications of EDM.
