PTA(Purified Terephthalic Acid), one of the staple chemical raw materials, is mainly used in producing polyester chip(including polyester fiber, polyester film and polyester bottle flakes). Therefore, PTA is indispensible to industries such as textiles, plastic and coating.Decanter centrifuge is one of the key equipment for dehydrating and purification in PTA production, with features such as continuous feeding, great capacity of production, high separation efficiency, low energy consumption, longtime operating ability and wide adaptability.Screw conveyor is an important component of decanter centrifuge. Screw conveyor works under centrifugal force and normal pressure inflicted by filter cake. In this dissertation, structure simulation, mechanics analysis and stress check of the screw conveyor are conducted with ANSYS Workbench. The cloud charts of stress intensity distribution under three conditions are given. The stress and deformation of the blade are checked to make sure the safety and stability of the operation. The rotor end head of the drum is a key component of decanter centrifuge. It covers drum cavity, forms liquid ring layer of specific thickness and supports the whole double rotor system. In this paper, parametric design by the finite element analysis software, Workbench, is performed to extract a series of structural parameters. By changing the parameters individually and comparing results of stress density analysis, it can be confirmed that fillet radius is the key factor influencing factor of stress density of rotor end head. Increasing it properly can minimize stress fatigue and improve stability.
