The cost performance of wear resistant materialis one of the most fundamental elements that large enterprises make their equipmentLarge-scale, automation and lightweight. So the wear resistant material with high strengthand high hardness and high toughness and easy processing is the best gift for human. Thereis important significance to the national economy that strengthen the development andapplication of high strength wear resistant steel.The composition of two kinds of wear resistant steel is the same inproduct specification, one is HARDOX450which occupies large market share, the other isNM400made in China, but the performance of HARDOX450is much better than NM400.For improving the performance of NM400under the condition that our heat treatmenttechnology and equipment are far behind Sweden and other country, V, Ti and Ce wereadded in NM400. After hot-rolling and heat treatment, the effect of alloy on grain size,precipitation, hardness, abrasion resistance and toughness was studied.The result as follows: V and Ti in steel could reduce grain size. But when the additiveamount of V and Ti increased from0.1%to0.2%, the grain size was not obviously reduced,while the amount of precipitation increased. When Ce was added, the grain size of NM400and the lath of martensite were significantly reduced. When the additive amount of V andTi was0.1%or0.2%, carbon and nitrogen precipitation of V and Ti was small anddispersed, which could inhibit grain growth and refine grains. Meanwhile, because of thestrengthening effect of dispersion, the hardness and toughness of steel were improved withthe increase of V and Ti; when the additive amount of V and Ti was0.3%, the size ofprecipitation and grain was too big so that the hardness and toughness of steel werereduced. The solid solubility quantity of V was bigger than that of Ti. Adding0.1%Cecould decrease the activity of V and Ti and increase their solid solubility quantity, whichcould make the precipitation refined and dispersed. Meanwhile, through this way the grain size was obviously reduced, and the shape of precipitation were transformed from cube tosphere. In conclusion, the hardness and toughness of steel could be remarkably improvedwhen Ce was added. Under the experimental conditions, the addition of V, Ti in is0.2%,the performance is the best, the hardness is1.14times that of NM400, impact energy is1.16times that of NM400, wear resistance is1.3times of NM400. At the same time adding0.1%Ce, the best addition amount of V, Ti is also0.2%, the hardness is1.24times that ofNM400, impact energy is1.45times that of NM400and wear resistance is1.7times ofNM400. |
