Delayed coking Coke Drum is a key device in delayed coking unit undertaking theimportant aspect of the petrochemical refining. With the increasing maturity of delayedcoking technology, delayed coking equipment moves in the direction of large scale, longterm and information technology. In order to narrow the gap with foreign petrochemicalenterprises, Sinopec firmly works on long term operation of the device in recent years.Extending operation cycle and constantly raising the level of equipment long periodrunning have become the significant measures of the equipment standard implementation,lower costs, and international competitiveness improving. Therefore, online security checksto the large Coke Drum to assess the security operation time, keep equipment safety,improve productivity, and enhance economic efficiency for enterprises will be of greatsignificance. This article is based on the need of delayed coking equipment in Chinesepetrochemical industry, researches on the1400Mkg/a grade delayed coking coke drumdesigned and manufactured by SEI, and carries out the following work:(1) According to the existing studies theories of delayed coking coke drum anddesigned documents, inspection reports, monitoring data, provided by Sinopec BeijingYanshan Company to analysis the bulging deformation, crack and other failure mechanismsof coke drum.(2) Study on coke drum structural deformation mode, stress and thermal shock processin the life cycle process by ANSYS.(3) Study on coke drum strength analysis method during multiphase flow thermalshock by ANSYS.(4) Study on delayed coking coke drum structure reliability and life-time evaluationmethod in multiphase flow thermal shock.(5) Research and develop the large scale coke drum structure reliability evaluationsystem based on ANSYS.This paper researches on the1400Mkg/a grade delayed coking coke drum, designedand manufactured by SEI and belonging to Sinopec Beijing Yanshan Company, as a typicalobject, proposing more general research results of structural reliability analysis of largedelayed coking coke drum using14Cr1MoR steel as tower body material and14Cr1MoR+410S as tower upper head material, and other Cr-Mo steel as large delayedcoking coke drum material. Besides, the online monitoring and safety assessment methodestablished on C-2101/1, C-2101/2coke drum of Sinopec Beijing Yanshan Company is ofgreat reference value to similar equipment of domestic production companies.
