This thesis discusses hotel uniform of the working clothes. As a big category offashion design, working clothes are more complicated and different from ordinaryfashion design. Working clothes are specifically designed according to the wearer’sworking requirement and more strictly designed in some special industries. Based onthe thesis of departmental wearing and matching design and using the Grand SkylightHotel as an example, this thesis studies and analyzes on the hotel uniform, which isone category of the working clothes.Nowadays, as there are a great many hotels of different types and levels, thematching uniforms for the hotels differ from each other as well. This thesis selectsfive-star hotel as its object and studies and analyzes the most proper way to equipworking uniform and the distribution ratio of the working uniform of the functionaldepartment, according to different departments and functions. With the hoteluniform’s concept, definition and categories as the theory, this thesis serves as atheoretical standard for the five-star hotel uniform and then analyzes the currentsituation of the hotel uniform. Different hotels have their own characteristics, so thecurrent hotel uniform design is based on the cultural backgrounds, departmentalcategories and unified element of the hotels. In order to achieve the unification offunction and beauty, hotel uniforms should be designed on condition of convenience,because different departments have different working environments and job categories.Also, staffing and working strength in different departments should also be taken intoconsideration.This thesis is developed in three parts. The first part, including the IntroductionPart mainly introduces the basic theories, namely the concept and definition ofworking uniform and hotel uniform. The aim and significance of the thesis will alsobe mentioned in this part. The second chapter will discuss the current situation ofhotel uniform both at home and abroad, which serves as the basis of this research. Thesecond part which is also the key part of the thesis will focus on the practicalverification of five-star departmental wearing and matching design using the GrandSkylight Hotel as an example. The third chapter will make an analysis on the department division and existing problems in Grand Skylight Hotel. The fourthchapter will discuss the key requirements of different departments, including the color,material, shape and craftsmanship etc. of the uniform. Then, research on wearingdesign and matching shall be done based on the departmental requirements. At last,the thesis will analyze the problems that may occur during the process of producingand what methods should be taken to solve the problem. The third part will make aconclusion and outlook. The fifth chapter will discuss the significance of the researchon the five-star departmental wearing and matching design. The significance can bebest embodied on the staff members’ working motivation and the hotel’s impression.It will help reduce the cost of the hotel management. The sixth chapter is a conclusionof the research and an outlook into the trend of the five-star hotel uniformdevelopment. Through the three parts’research, the thesis discusses the five-star hoteldepartmental wearing and matching design and provides theoretical support to thesubject in a way of combining theory and practice.During the process of research, it is expected that the thesis can analyzes thefive-star hotel departmental wearing and matching design on the basis of the currentachievement and development of the hotel uniform design. Fist, the design should bestandardized and meet the demand of combining both beauty and function. Second,it should help improve the hotel’s impression and the employee’s motivation, so as toenlarge profit. Last of all, it is expected to make valuable exploration to inheritanceand innovation in the field of fashion design.
