In ring spinning, since the tension distribution of fibers in twisting triangle and thearrangement of fibers in yarn depend on the geometrical morphology of twisting triangle, twisting triangle is the critical control segment of yarn manufacturing. Even though manyimprovements have been made to investigation of spinning triangle, research methods of thetension of fibers in twisting triangle remain in mathematical theory analysis. Ignoring thefriction between fibers and the torque of fibers in twisting triangle is probably the maindrawback of these research methods. In this paper, the experimental investigation based onFEM here deals with the complete force analysis of fibers in twisting triangle, including thetorque and bent of fibers.ANSYS, a kind of finite element software, was adopted to respectively analyze the stressof fibers in symmetric twisting triangle, asymmetric twisting triangle and Siro-spun twistingtriangle. At first, the finite element model of twisting triangle was established, based on themechanical property of fibers and the geometry of twisting triangle. Subsequently, a series offactor, including yarn count, twist factor, spindle speed, offset and center distance ofSiro-spun, were used to analyze the tension distribution of fibers in twisting triangle. Finally, the spinning experiments were implemented to verify the results of simulation. The results prove that, in the same process parameters, the tension of fibers in Siro-spuntwisting triangle is smaller than that in ring spinning twisting triangle, and the hairiness ofSiro-spun yarn is less than that of ring spun yarn; with the increase of twist factor, spindlespeed and center distance of Siro-spun, and the decrease of yarn count, the tension of fiberswas increasing, and the yarn evenness was deteriorating; in the same process parameters, thetorque of fibers in Siro-spun twisting triangle is smaller than that in ring spinning twistingtriangle; with the increase of twist factor, spindle speed and center distance of Siro-spun, thetorque and residual torque of fibers in twisting triangle were both increasing.
