Cashew phenol is a kind of compounds, which is from a waste of cashew shell.As the renewable resource, it can replace petroleum as original materials to make phenols substances.It is mainly used in phenolic resin and epoxy resin, but the report on the preparation and the applications of surfactants is rarely reported.Cashew phenol is just as the original materials to be synthesized species of unsaturated and saturated polyoxyethylene nonionic surfactants. It is economical. And the concept of recycling resources also can be met.Firstly, the cashew phenol was taken as original materials, controlled the temperature between140~145℃and the pressure of2×105~3×105Pa, the cashew phenol polyoxyethylene12,14,16,18and20can be synthesized by the ethylene oxide addition reaction. Then at room temperature by the catalyst of Raney nickel to catalytise hydrogenation under atmospheric pressure, obtained the corresponding saturated products. The structures of the final products were demonstrated by FT-IR, and1H-NMR and GPC. The results showed that the synthesized products were the desired products.Secondly, the HLB, critical micelle concentration, cloud point, and softening point about all the products were measured. In contrast with unsaturated products, the results of the saturated structure products indicated that:the HLB increased, the critical micelle concentration decreased, cloud point increased, and the softening point increased.Thirdly, due to all the products were hardly dispersed in water. So in this article a variety of small molecule organic compounds were used to help them to dissolve. It concluded that the alcohol was the best dispersant, and the minimum amount was only10%.Finally, we selected cypermethrin as the emulsified objects, and investigated the emulsion and solubilization about all the products on pesticide, and compared the effect with nonylphenol ethoxylates (TX-10). It showed that all the unsaturated and saturated cashew phenol ethoxylates could be used as emulsifier, and the emulsion stability was better. Besides consumption was less than TX-10, and the emulsifying propertie of saturated products was better than the unsaturated products.They could really replace TX-10as a pesticide emulsifier. |
