A200kt/a polypropylene process unit adopts the world’s advanced gas-phase polypropylene production technology. This technique need complicated control and has an easy interlocking peculiarity. In addition, the process operating requires high accuracy. In order to assist operators in deep understanding process technical and familiarize them with operation, using the simulation technology successfully developed this simulation and training system of the polypropylene device in whole aggregation process. The system plays an important role in stabilizing production and improving the skill level of the operators.The development of simulation system includes simulation model development and DCS control system application. The simulation training system adopts real YOKOGAWA CENTUM CS3000control system, connecting with the simulation model through the communication interface software, outstanding the authenticity of DCS operating environment. Development of simulation model relates to physical preparation, simulation module development, module overlap, score and accident setting, field station generation and dynamic test. Development of polypropylene reactor is the core of the simulation model development. The simulation model response to dynamic equation representation in the base of in-depth analysing the reaction mechanism and process, with four section mixed reactor series simulating polymerization product flow process. The simulation results accords with the device practical operation data.The model is based on mass balance, phase equilibrium and energy conservation. It adopts mechanism modeling, in high conformity with simulation and can well simulate the actual operating conditions. Not only can it be used for simulation training but also can be used to study the process and control system. The actual application is affirmed by the user. It is used for staff daily training, internal operation skills contest and petrochemical group level skills competition.
