| The Turpan seedless grapes (Vitis vinifera) were used as materials, to investigate the effect of planthormones and chemical additives to grape productivity and quality, and discuss the advantage anddisadvantage of it. Grapes subjected to gibbeellin (GA3) and Pro-dry agent (PDA) treatment, graduallychanges of water content and the respiration rate during the drying process, amount of dry-weight andorganic acid content were measured. The result shows that, there no significant difference between the GA3treatment and the control in the water-desorbing rate, while it shows highly significant difference betweenthe PDA treatment and the control. Between different concentrations of PDA, the water-desorbing rateaccelerated with increasing in the concentration. PDA stimulated the respiration rate in the early stage ofdrying process, and it was down regulated later due to the rapidly decreased water content. GA3improvedgrape yield by increasing the size, and increased the fresh yield by promoting the water absorption ofgrapes during growth stages, however, the dry matter percentage of fresh grapes were decreased by10%.PDA improving the raisins yield by shorten the time for drying, and lowering the consumption ofrespiratory. The organic acid content of the GA3treatment and PDA pretreatment raisins were higher thanthat of the control, and exist a significant interaction between the two treatments. In conclusion, both theGA3and PDA are improve the quality and yield of raisins, however, findings from study on the plantgrowth regulators and food additives shows that, both of the GA3and PDA there exists potential safetyhazards on human health. |
