The automation and intelligence are developing faster and faster as the4.0in industryarriving. The car industry is a symbol of advanced technology while it is pillar industries innational economy. But we lack independent intellectual property and innovation, so China isjust a big country rather than a powerful nation in manufacture. In order accelerate Chinaindustry transformation and upgrading, car workers are aiming at developing newmanufacture process. Auto parts prepare standard, general and serialized parts as the role ofone important component of the supply chain.Thesis subject is Cummins rocker shaft. It comes from the auto part factory. Now therockshaft is supplying with Small quantities, low efficiency and high account. In order tosolve these problems, we try to design a multi-function drilling machine which based on thePLC.Firstly, we need to find out waste-time and high-account process after analyzing theformer process. Then list the processes that drilling machine will do. Secondly, we design thespecial gripper which is for location. After that, the feeding system and unloading systemfollow, so it will run automatically. At last, we choose the power unit, rotary table, cylinder,sensor, magnetic valve and I/O list by analyzing the demand of machine. And make out thePLC system. The PLC system controls all the movements including feeding, clap,manufacture, rotary table turns with the station promoting and unloading the part. There are7power units and10clappers that can be used to7stations in the same time. There are manualmode, auto mode and home mode in the PLC system. You can adjust the machine on themanual mode. And it can run automatically after it adjusted. The home mode is prepared forauto mode.Paper through to the multi-station combination drilling machine fixture design and PLCcontrol research, demonstrates the feasibility of advanced PLC control technology incombination machine tools, can realize automatic production and solve the productionefficiency is low, high processing cost.
